Jacory Croskey-Merritt Out Against 49ers Due to Injury

Washington Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt will miss the upcoming game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a groin injury, according to Coach Dan Quinn. The injury, which sidelined Croskey-Merritt for the final two preseason games, was aggravated during the team’s Week 5 game against the New York Giants. Despite the injury, he managed to rush for 82 yards on 11 carries. Coach Quinn described this as a reinjury that prevented the running back from participating in practice all week.

With Croskey-Merritt out, the Commanders will look to Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler to carry the load. Both backups have also been managing their respective injuries. Additionally, Jeremy McNichols may be activated from injured reserve to bolster the team’s options at running back. McNichols has been recovering from a quad injury.
